Paid Talks & Career Sessions
I partner with UK and European universities and colleges to deliver engaging, practical careers support for students preparing to enter the games industry.
Working with institutions including BIMM Institute, Solent University and DBGA, I provide a range of tailored sessions, from in-person talks and guest lectures to online workshops, CV and portfolio clinics, and small-group career support.
My focus is simple: helping students understand how the industry actually works. I break down recruitment processes, highlight what studios are really looking for, and give clear, actionable guidance students can immediately apply.
The result is students who feel more confident, better prepared, and clearer on how to approach their next steps.
Popular Sessions:
Breaking Into the Games Industry
A realistic, honest overview of how hiring works, what studios look for, and how students can position themselves effectively.
CV & Portfolio Workshops
Practical, hands-on sessions focused on improving applications, with clear examples of what works (and what doesn’t).
1:1 or Small Group Career Clinics
Targeted feedback sessions where students receive personalised advice on their CV, portfolio, and direction.
Final-Year Preparation Sessions
Helping students transition from education into industry with a clear, actionable plan.
“Rebecca took the time to deliver talks and careers sessions with our students, supporting them in their decisions and evolving their understanding of the industry. She brought clear and practical insight into how recruitment works in the industry and the realities of breaking into it. Our students now feel more confident in navigating their emerging career paths and we really appreciate the support she has provided for the next generation of games industry talent.”
— Alec Chalmers, Course Leader BA Games Design and Development/BA Games Art and Technology, BIMM Institute
